Language Proficiency Assessments
The Center for Global Languages is now offering a new service to test an individual's proficiency in a second language. The Center uses the Language Proficiency Guidelines published by the American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages, which are internationally accepted as a standard of measurement for evaluating a person's ability to communicate in a second language (see www.actfl.org for details).
Proficiency testing involves the following:
- Screening job applicants
- Evaluating employees for promotions, international duties, or upper level management positions
- Assessing service employees to ensure maximum customer service
- Conducting entrance placement testing for academic institutions
- Qualifying international teaching assistants
